The principles that guide the Democratic Party and the officials that serve include:

  • Being a good leader
  • Being compassionate


We are not perfect and sometimes fail, but these are the principles that we try to abide by.  Our underlying moto is "With Liberty and Justice for All".

The following is a reminder of some of the essential policy areas that the Democratic Party stands for.

  • Continued and improved economic growth; the one percent vs. Middle America; tax policy and infrastructure improvements,
  • Intelligent security vs. surveillance policies, thoughtful military policies not governed by neocons and a rush to war mentality,
  • An immigration policy with border security balanced with human rights concerns of 11 million Latinos in the U.S.
  • Religious protection for all faiths – including Muslims, 
  • Strengthening our nations Medicare and health care as opposed to dismantling them,
  • Protecting our environment and working globally to combat climate change,
  • Protecting our civil rights and voting rights,  
  • Promoting reasonable minimum wages for workers,
  • Promoting sensible gun regulations to reduce gun death and mass shootings while protecting Second Amendment rights,
  • Nominations of moderate U.S. Supreme court justices.
